Prenatal Screening Tests

Prenatal screening tests are being studied in auto analysts with immunocemiluminescence technique using special computer programs. These tests are tests that detect the risk of Trisomy 21, neural tube defects and trisomy 18, Trisomy 13 of the baby during pregnancy. Screening tests cannot definitively determine whether the baby is carrying these abnormalities, they only give the risk ratio.

Congenital Metabolic Diseases

Metabolic screening tests are designed to diagnose diseases without any symptoms and reduce mortality and morbidity by starting the necessary treatment. Diseases that will be included in the screening program should appear in society with sufficient frequency, and if diagnosed early, they should be able to change the course of the disease or be fully treated.

Hematology

This lab unit has a large panel of tests for the diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma and other hematopoietic immunological diseases, mainly in the field of hemostasis, thrombosis, and coagulopathy. Molecular Microbiology

In this unit, many tests that give quantitative and qualitative results are studied by different methods such as real time PCR, in house methods, and hybrid capture.

Samples studied as In house are displayed and recorded with traceable electrophoresis.

Allergies

All allergy-related tests are performed in this unit. Skin prick tests are performed with panels consisting of the most common allergens for respiratory allergens. PPD testing is performed on cases with suspected tuberculosis, followed for 3 days and concluded.

Transfusion Centers

A transfusion center is a unit that is not authorized to take blood from a blood donor except in emergencies, supplies blood and its components from the BKM to which it is connected, prepares it for use in patients by cross-comparing it for transfusion and performing other necessary tests.
